Description
- Labeled calcium indicators can exhibit an increase in fluorescence upon binding Ca2+. The fluorescence intensity can increase more than 100 fold upon binding Ca2+. Fluo-3, AM is a cell permeable Ca2+ indicator that can be activated by visible light. It has a high affinity. Fluo-3 can be used in the imagination of the Ca2+ signaling spatial dynamics and cell-based pharmacological screening. It can be used in flow cytometry experiments for the detection of second messengers, neurotransmitters and photoactivation of caged chelators. The heavy metal-selective chelator TPEN can be used to control the perturbations of heavy metal cations. This cell impermeant indicator can be physically loaded using patch pipette, microinjection, or pinocytotic cell-loading reagent.
